WOW!  He is just stunning!!

And I think sometimes the Silver gene does some awesome changes seasonally, and as they grow.  I only had 2 horses with a silver gene here -- appaloosa breeders aren't normally "fond" of the silver gene -- a mare that was a silver bay, and a stallion that was a silver black, but they were color changes for sure.

and just 'cuz -

here are pics of Tory - chestnut and white tobiano mare.  She gets an ultra-fine coat in the summer but it's amazing how hairy she gets during the winter.  She is not one who tolerates much grooming and I only tried using clippers with her 1 time.  Since late 2010, she's been all on her own with just "touch up" grooming...

24 September 2010 - 2 weeks after arriving in NC.  Winter coat already coming in heavily - but she came from the mountains on the West Coast of the USA.

She has not shed all the way yet.  Day before Echo born (actually a little over 12 hours).
