Was just going to say that! Beautiful dapples  and crazy how different the colours the winter coat makes!

Flashi - (Koalah's 2011 filly, by Iggy), foal coat w/ "cameo" clip, 2 months old(?) -

Flashi - winter coat, feb/mar 2012 -

Flashi - has been body clipped (not sure how long before this photo taken) & staying in a barn, Aug 2012 -

Flashi - Shetland Congress July 2013, not sure when body clipped, stays in barn at trainers -

Flashi - 2-3 weeks later 2013, at home in NC & has access to barn but rarely stands in shade, quickly fading -

Paula, my Misty gets a very fuzzy face, much like Bit does.

You can kind of see it in this November pic from several years ago.

Chanda - yes, I can see it.  I loved that pic of Tilly, too!

Ryan - Isn't it???  I love watching the winter coats come off and then comparing them (when I think to get decent pics, which doesn't always happen, LOL).

Yes, Diane!  THANK YOU.

All coats go thru color changes, but I personally have seen the most variety in the "silver" or "chocolate" or "taffy" horses.  It's amazing and it's one of the things that drew me to these unique coat colors...  & then I combine those with the pinto coloring, LOL!

I think Tilly has probably the best Designer coat, complete with fancy hat.

Ok, so here's a few pics of a bay and white mare.  'Clipse was given a "clean-up" trim before her seller dropped her off with us - Dec 2013 -

'Clipse - summer coat 2014, hasn't been clipped since Dec -

'Clipse - not releasing that winter coat quite yet Mar 2015 -

'Clipse & Riddler - Sept 2015.  He had more baby fur than she had winter coat for about 30 days.  Then her coat went thick & heavy (no pics).

Not clipped - he's rubbed all his baby fuzz off of his face -

Fuzzy face -

OK - here's a real fuzzy pair!  Bay tobianos - 1/2 brother/sister out of 'Clipse.  More deeply related than that, though...

Riddler's bad hair day -

Almost all shed out - 10 months old -
