Hoping.....sounds like... against hope that a foal arrives!   But if not. perhaps some hand-breeding will do the trick!

Sometimes the stallion get really interested as the mares get closer... Still have fingers crossed she is... And if not maybe he can help her get into the family way!

I don't know what to think.  It's been a year since I saw Che` making attempts, but with him that doesn't necessarily mean he got the job done.  Monday was dentist day, and she thought Baybe looked like she might be pregnant; but that's the best I've got at the moment.   There might be a little going on with her milk veins, but maybe I want it so much, that I'm seeing things.

I can sure hope, but he does give whole new meaning to hand breeding, that is for sure.  She gets plenty to eat (good nutrition not just filler), but isn't fat.  She's "sunken" in the flank, but has a bit of a belly.

Well, I'm at least pretty sure she didn't take when I thought I saw Che` covering her last year; but, I swear she has "that" shape and I think I see the start of milk veins.   I just hope it's not a November baby or something equally bad for a baby in MT.

Just checking in to see if she ever gave you a solid "I am" or "I'm not" answer.  Don't know about anyone else, but my fingers have cramped from being crossed so long! If she's come into season, did you have a chance to get her hand-covered?

I really don't know if she is or isn't, these days; she kind of has that pregnant look, now and then Che` shows interest in her, but there are days he'd show interest in a post, so I'm just not sure.   We are in a severe drought, with high heat and no precip to speak of, so I've put breeding plans on hold for now; my hay went up 30% this year due to the drought, luckily I don't have to buy all my hay, just some small squares for one barn, but it still put a dent in my budget for anything.

 ;D ;D :P :P ::) ::) :P :P ;D ;D

Boy am I glad I had nothing in my mouth when I read this!!

*getting on soap box*
We've been talking about how God has his plans quite a bit this last couple of weeks. Maybe He let 'Che have his bit of fun.  *shrug* If there is a foal, and it comes late, maybe it will be a milder winter. Or if there isn't a foal, you've already mentioned the drought.  A foal at foot going into winter might have pulled her down.  If we're lucky, we'll understand one day. Or maybe...he wants Spotty to stay with you a bit longer, so He's making sure there are enough slots to go around!  :P

*okay, off soap box now*

We have a nice shelter and stall where Baybe lives and I have blankets, so likely would be fine.
I did put Spotty up on a ad page, but likely he won't go anywhere as I just can't let go; if he does stay, he'll be gelded as I don't wish to breed appies and he's too randy for his own good, he's a stink (just ask Dakota, Monte and Manny, I think they are ready to give their little brother up for adoption or flush him down the toilet, he's so naughty).
