Thinking no go on baby for Baybe, just belly (perhaps broodmare belly, since she had 4-5 foals back to back before coming here).
I did trim her hooves today, she had tons of growth to cut off, and they had gone a bit wonky, but I think I got them pretty balanced for this trim and will hopefully get the rest next trim.

In that case, although I'm still hoping....., we look forward to some successful hand-breeding this season!!

That would be nice, but I won't hold my breath, I don't want to turn blue and pass out.

Any progress on the Baybe front?  Have any of your mares started cycling yet?  I know that you get *real* winters there in Montana, so don't know about when your girls get started.  If not, has she changed shape at all?  Has the shedding continued enough that you can see her shape, and boobies, well?  If Sophia foals and Baybe doesn't will you still try to hand breed?

Baybe didn't foal last year, I plan to try hand breeding this summer.

Sounds like a good plan, since then you'll be in control of when baby will be born -- when weather is warm enough.

Thinking I'll pasture breed the three girls, just need to figure out where to put Bliss and Dolly.

Me, too.  He missed Misty last time we tried (I think we missed her on both ends of the turn out time), and Showy's foal didn't get out of the sack (She didn't look that ready, and we had to work cows that morning, so I didn't get to the barn as early as usual and missed it).

Sorry about the miscalculation on the foal date Chanda.  Somehow I got it into my head that there was a chance Baybe got caught in June.  Silly me!

Here's a question for you.  If three new foals might be coming in,will anyone have to go out?  If so, who might it be? Or are you one of those lucky folks who can hang on to everyone if just the right home doesn't come along?
