Anyone like purple?

Working on a quilt in purples and white.   Bought two kits during a friend's customer appreciation sale 6 weeks ago or so.  It's going to be bigger than I thought, even I read the dimensions on the pattern.  Pretty much only the center fits on the bed.  Supposed to finish at I think it's 57x75" (there are more rows of the squares to add).

It'll take me a bit to finish it, as I prefer to put the layers together at one of the quilt guild sewing Friday's, so I can use the tables at the center where we meet (much easier than bending over the spare bed).   Perhaps I can make January or February's sewing Friday, just wasn't in the cards this fall.

Not purple, but here is the next project. 
It's sort of a group project for quilt guild.  We made the little triangle blocks and exchanged to get an assortment.  And, I saw the block pattern on a website that used triangle pieces, so we'll see what we get.  I have enough triangle pieces to make 6 of these blocks.

The center fabric is a horse print, hard to tell, but the fabric is batik, so not usually as detailed as regular cottons.

I made these potholders for a fundraiser auction for the local rodeo club, the auction was yesterday.   The orange, black and white is the school colors for the town that has the rodeo and where the auction was held.   My MIL bought one pair (didn't tell me what she paid) and said the other pair sold for $25.

I was surprised, but people tend to be more generous for fundraisers.
I usually sell them for $7.50-$10 a pair, depending on the fabric and pattern.

I completed my 6 blocks with all the little triangles, and have worked up an alternate block.  Here's a picture of the two together.

And, I'm "interviewing" a fabric to be a narrow border, as I want it a bit bigger than my blocks alone will make.   I have lots of the cream in the blocks, so will use that for an outer border, but need a narrow inner border so I don't lose the look of the blocks.   I think this fabric will work for a narrow border, as long as it's only like an inch or inch and a half wide.
