Bumping up the check-in thread.
Those of you hit with the nasty winter storm, check in and let us know you are ok.
I talked to Holly on FB, and she's ok, and has a new foal.   Hopefully, she'll pop in here and say hi.

We had a two week run of below zero temps, overnight down to 30 below.  Finally broke, and we are above zero and even a bit of above freezing temps, so I'm catching up on hoof trims.

I know how much Diane likes to see them, so will just put it here...  First calf of the season, and it's early, not early gestation, but early arrival cause the neighbors bulls got in our pasture about a month before we usually turn out.

Thanks, I do so love to see the calves!  Makes me miss them even more.

My son, Jon, has 10 acres and he's been fixing the fence lines so that he can move 2 cows he bought a while back onto the property. Not sure what kind they are, hoping they're Angus.  ;pray Got a new bull coming too, and then "I" can buy a couple of cows that are not the "scrub" cows everyone has in Florida, and get some registered breeding done with pure lines.  Hoping I can live long enough to put my hands on another little one that I own!  I so miss them and the smell of them!  Some of my favorite childhood memories!

Wish i had some exciting news to report 😊

We have had a really mild summer this year , compared to last year it?s been great . I?ve been busy getting firewood supplies ready as they are predicting a very wet cold winter .

I have had my two little ones visiting the stallion over the last 4 months , unfortunately they kee
Coming back in season . When the little one returns home I will get the vet to run some bloods . If neither of them have taken , I?m going to assume may be the stallion is the issue . The plan is to geld him after I?ve finishing sending the mares to him. The lady has heaps of horses and quite a few a mares , so will make life easier at hole for her .

I?m
On the phone so excuse the spelling and punctuation, I?ll try and get on the laptop tonight 😊

I would guess if you have 2 mares coming into season, and neither gets bred month after month, it seems most definitely the stallion.  Praying for success   ;pray ;pray ;pray

Took a new picture of Alphi to send to one of the grandchildren, so thought I'd post it here.  He's my Labradoodle that will be turning 3 this May.  NO shedding is true and so appreciated by me having bred Labrador's for years who shed like they are trying to make pillows of their fur every day.  The only drawback seems to be the "poodle" curly coat that does require some clipping down as it does tangle easily.  I'm lazy these days, so about twice a year I just have him shaved down.  I hate the poodle look, but he's starting to look fluffy again which I like.  So, here's Alphi !!!

Can't seem to straighten it up!  Dang!

Cross your fingers, toes, etc...
I sold a saddle, shipped a saddle, and USPS is evidently holding it hostage.  I shipped two weeks ago, there was one tracking blip on March 2, but it only said package in transit and arriving late.  so I have started the find missing mail process.  If it doesn't show in two weeks, I'll be filing my insurance claim, as I did pay for the insurance for it's value.
Our post master did check with the state hub, and it sounds like it made it out of there, even though they did not scan it.  How does one lose a 45# large package (very large package)?  It's not going to go unnoticed on the bottom of a bag or tote like a letter might.     She also said that since it's going east, it'll go through Memphis hub, and they are still recovering from last month's storm, so behind.  So, positive thoughts please.

Thank you.
Man I hope it gets there.  I know USPS is slower lately, but this is ridiculous.

I finally  have updated tracking on the package, it's made it to a distribution center on the East Coast, so it's close.   Cross your fingers for it to continue quickly on it's way, and be scanned as well, so we know where it is.

That would be so nice, if it arrived "quickly", well from where it is now, as we are pushing 3 weeks, so it's not been a quick trip.
Glad I'm not likely to be selling/shipping another saddle.  And, I hope the buyer of this saddle is happy with it, and it's what she wants.   She's been looking for this style/brand of saddle for awhile; but I just hope I measured right, so it's the size she's looking for.  :o
