HC Minis 2016 foaling line-up

Can't wait!!  So far, just gorgeous little ones -- so, are you hoping for another filly, or a colt?  I know at first you said you wanted a colt buddy, but just wondering?  Whatever, I'm sure it will be beautiful!!

Looking for a filly, as I have plenty of boys around here, and the older geldings (12 year old and two 4 year olds) can make fine weaning buddies for Spotty.   Bliss (or maybe Jorga) needs a friend for weaning.  Although a filly can stay with momma longer as needed, so if I'm blessed with more boys, it'll be fine; Dolly spent her first winter with her momma (lots of snow and not enough pens, so left them together).

Anyone know if Donkeys naturally have longer teats than mares?  My mini jenny looks to have a little pooch down there, and her teats are longer than the mares teats.  But, she is a bit chubby, so could just be chubbiness showing through.

Debated posting (today), but decided I would...

We have an angel colt.   Showy had a red bag this morning, sometime.   Sorrel colt with star and strip.    Not sure how much I missed her by.  I didn't sleep well last night, should have got up earlier, but just couldn't get moving.   We are shipping some cows today, so getting ready for that and rearranging corrals and waiting on the trucker, etc.  No excuse, really, but she didn't seem that ready, she is a maiden, so that doesn't help, and a touch me not.

P.S.  Holy crap, I know people have said how tough a red bag is, but I had no idea; there is no tearing it by hand.  There was a little hole, I got my fingers into and ripped, but I couldn't start a hole by any means with my fingers.  [It was too late for this little guy.]

I feel so bad for Showy.  I didn't leave it there for her very long, but I'm not certain she really knew what it was since it never moved.  Seems movement helps kick in the mothering ability.

If Baybe took on her one hand breeding date, today she would be 310 days.

If Misty took on the last possible day out with the stallion, she could be 320 days (she would be further along if she took earlier, so not looking very promising).

I was thinking this morning or maybe it was yesterday, probably yesterday, since today started out poorly...

Everyone always talks about how wonderful puppy breath is, I just don't get it, and don't find it to be appealing; but have discovered that new ponies smell wonderful.  Yes, I've been sniffing Spotty and Bliss, every chance I get; two visitors today got to sniff Bliss and they thought it was better than puppy breath too.  [Leaning towards Bliss, but might be Jorga.]

Thank you, very much.   Showy seems to be doing well as far as the foaling goes, but she has a few other issues that we need to take care of.

Thank you.  Showy seems to be doing ok.

Spotty and Bliss are doing well, I'm mostly enjoying watching them be foals and just interact with their dams.  Will wait til Bliss is a little older, then put the mares and foals back in the main paddock with the other mares.  This worked well for me before, so should be ok again; but will keep an eye on Bliss, since boys tend to play rougher than girls.  [All boys first crop, so they all played the same.]

Looking at two fabrics in my stash to add to the patriotic quilt, should I need more fabric, but they might be too dark.
One is tone on tone with stars, kind of a denim color; the other a dark blue with some stars and squiggles.

That's the one I'm leaning towards, if I don't end up using both.
I looked at fabric at Walmart today, while I was on my all day excursion, but nothing looked good.   Up at 4am, on the road at 5am, at the stockyards at 9am, cows sold around 10:30 or 11am, then lunch, shopping and head towards home.
Didn't get everything I hoped, and completely spaced a couple things, like the  new kitchen faucet.   Spent more at Wally world than I planned, but there were a few regular pantry items that were way cheaper than our local grocery store.  [Yet, my house cat dry food was more expensive.]
